Local Mom Launches Her Own Travel Business to Supplement Household Income When Times Got Tough

A Childhood Love of the Big Apple Inspires New Company during Hard Times

Columbus, OH (June 21, 2010) – New Columbus business, Tracy’s Trips, is gaining momentum by drawing from their founder’s love of New York City. When Tracy McAllister’s husband was laid-off, shopping trips to New York were one of her family’s immediate budget cuts. Tracy fell in love with New York City when she was six years old, and watched the TV show “That Girl” starring Marlo Thomas.

Her love of the big city was shared by the rest of her family, and she found a way to have her cake… and eat it too. She founded Tracy’s Trips, a travel company that allowed her to host group trips to NYC while making some extra income.  

I got the advice to do what I love, so I just went for it and started chartering trips to NYC. There are still a lot of things that I want to do, but we’re already booking private trips and traveling to new destinations.” says McAllister

Tracy stays busy by putting together new trips and setting up exclusive deals at local businesses in the cities she visits. Her most popular trips are the $99 NYC Red-Eye, which depart Friday night and return Sunday morning. Multiple trips are planned each month for the rest of 2010, and Tracy hopes to book a few more private trips for bachelorette parties, local organizations and schools.
